LAFAYETTE, LA — Lafayette Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two Lafayette men for Aggravated Burglary and Attempted Second-Degree Murder after a reported break-in which left one man in the hospital with a stab wound to the chest.
Deputies received a call for assistance in the 1300 block of Roper Road at 5:21 a.m. on Friday, June 8. Upon arrival, deputies located two residents-both with lacerations. The investigation revealed that four men armed with handguns and knives had forced entry into the victim’s home.
One of the victims suffered a deep laceration to the leg as she fled the home through a window to avoid confrontation. The second victim was stabbed multiple times by one of the perpetrators. Evidence indicated that several items were taken from the victim’s home and that the suspects had fled prior to the 911 call.
Deputies located the vehicle parked at a home on Inwood Street in Lafayette after obtaining-a vehicle description. Deputies made contact with two of the men involved in the incident and some of the stolen items were recovered at this home.
Doctor Edmond, 25, and Corey Fox, 20, have both been booked in the Parish Jail for Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Burglary.
Both victims remain hospitalized but are expected to recover from their injuries.
