Baton Rouge, La — Two men have been taken into custody after their involvement in two separate armed robberies.
On June 13, Regis Chatman, 21, turned himself in to detectives at the Sheriff’s Covington office. During his interview with detectives, Chatman admitted to his involvement in the Abita Nursery robbery as well as a previous armed robbery in which he and Jammal Calloway, 18, were the main suspects.
Chatman confirmed detective’s suspicions that he and Calloway were responsible for an armed robbery at a Covington area mobile home community on May 29, in which they held a couple at gunpoint in their home while they searched for items to take.
Officers with the Ruston Police Department located Calloway at a family members home today.
Detectives have booked Chatman for the Abita Nursery armed robbery and also the armed robbery that took place on May 29.
Calloway was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Lincoln Parish Jail. He is currently awaiting to be transported back to St. Tammany Parish where he will be booked with his two outstanding warrants for armed robbery.
