BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that happened Monday night around South 17th Street and Government.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9 the victim, Montaser Zarrouq, 32, of Baton Rouge, was shot in the chest by an unknown suspect. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital, but Zarrouq died as a result of his injuries

Details are limited at this time. No motive or suspect have been identified.
