Victim jumps out of 4th floor window to escape robbers

Two people were injured and one suspect has been arrested, after an armed robbery on January 22.

The Baton Rouge Police Department says they arrested 27-year-old Hayward Howard, of New Orleans, after he and two other suspects robbed two people at gunpoint.

According to police, Howard and his accomplices forced their way into an apartment, on the 600 block of Mckinley Street, around 11:30 p.m.

The suspects, allegedly demanded money from the victims, at gunpoint.

Police say the first victim was beaten by the suspects and suffered minor injuries.

The second victim suffered moderate injuries after jumping from a bedroom window, which was located on the fourth floor.

Investigators say the suspects stole money and other various items from the apartment.

After running out of the apartment, the suspects then tried to rob six other people at gunpoint.

Hayward Howard was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with 2 counts of Armed Robbery and 6 counts of Attempt Armed Robbery.

Baton Rouge Police are still investigating the crime and need your help in finding the remaining suspects.

The other two men are described as black males.
