Walker Police looking for gas station armed robberry suspect
WALKER, LA — Walker Police report that a lone gunman robbed the Shell/Express 1 Stop in Walker on the night of March 27, taking an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing.
The suspect entered the Express 1 Stop, just north of I-12 on Walker South Road, shortly after 8:00 p.m., and purchased gasoline. After making the purchase, the man went to the pumps and put gas in his truck. He then came back into the store with a gun.
“After fueling his vehicle, the suspect re-entered the Express 1 Stop and went directly to the checkout counter. The cashier asked the suspect if he needed a receipt, at which time the man took a handgun from his pocket and demanded the contents of the cash register,” Captain John Sharp, Walker Police Public Information Officer explained. “The cashier followed the instructions and gave the register contents to the suspect. After the suspect received the money from the register, he exited the store, ran to the vehicle he was driving and left the scene.”
Walker Police say that no one was injured in the robbery.
Police are seeking the suspect, last seen leaving the Express 1 Stop heading toward I-12 on Walker South Road in a dark colored pickup truck. “The suspect in this armed robbery is described as an older white male of medium height and slim build,” Captain Sharp stated. “At the time of the robbery, the suspect had a beard and was wearing a red and blue, front button shirt and a tan cowboy hat. He is believed to have been driving a dark blue or black full-sized Chevrolet pickup truck with Texas plates.”
The police investigation of this robbery remains ongoing. Anyone with information concerning this robbery is asked to contact Walker Police at (225) 664-3125, or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
