Friday, February 22, 2013 - 5:00pm

The Gonzales Police Department needs the publics help to identify two men who allegedly followed an elderly man to his home and robbed him.

On Monday February 18, a 77-year-old elderly male was believed to be followed home from LeBlanc’s Payless Grocery Store, where he had just cashed a $600.00 check. The victim pulled into his carport and exited his vehicle. As he began to walk towards his residence, one of the two black male suspects ran up, knocked him down, and stole his cash.

The two suspects fled in a Nissan Altima, which is possibly metallic blue in color. Although the vehicle appears to have tinted window in the photograph, it’s possible that is just a camera effect and they may not be tinted.

Suspect one is wearing a light blue collared shirt with what appears to be writing embroidered (possibly a work shirt) on the left side chest area.

The second suspect captured on video surveillance is wearing a black ball cap with a gold rim, black shirt and khaki pants.

Anyone one with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call the Gonzales Police Department at (225) 647-9572 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867). You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637). Include CS225 at the beginning of your message.
