HOUSTON (CNN) — Students came together to give a 15-year-old Texas girl fighting brain cancer a star-studded surprise.
Hip-Hop artist Drake made a special visit to Houston to meet one of his biggest fans, 15-year-old Kennedy Brown.
Photos of his surprised visit shared with eyewitness news.
We met the girls who put it all together, on Thursday.
“To see her go through this makes me really sad,” said Lyric Baldridge, who told KTRK about a big surprise they pulled off at their school on Monday for Kennedy Brown.
“We only had like two days to plan,” one of Brown’s friends said.
They threw her a high school in a day experience, crowned her prom queen, and congratulated her in a private graduation ceremony.
But there was one thing that they could not do and asked us for help.
“We would like all your viewers to #DrakeForKen,” Kennedy’s friend Payton Campbell asked on Thursday.
Within hours of airing our story, it went viral, trending in Houston and in other U.S. cities. Twitter lit up with #drakeforken. People from across the country sent thousands of tweets to get drake's attention.
“So we can get him to come see her or send something for her because that would mean the world to her,” Campbell explained.
Kennedy's father told us drake called late last night to say he was going to make a special trip to Houston just for Kennedy.
An unforgettable act of kindness and a big smile from a girl, who's fighting a difficult battle for her life.
