The East Baton Rouge Library has announced the following programs to be held for teens throughout the month of April.

Teen Library Crew Meeting
Monday, April 15, 4:00 p.m.
Calling all tweens and teens, ages 12-17! You’re invited to the Fairwood Branch on Monday, April 15, at 4:00 p.m. for our very first Teen Library Crew meeting. Pamper Yourself for Prom!
Wednesday, April 17, 4:00 p.m.
Are you getting ready for prom or a special date? Pamper yourself with luxurious bath salts! Come to the Fairwood Branch on Wednesday, April 17, at 4:00 p.m. where teens will be making this fun and bubbly craft. For more information, call (225) 924-9387.

Classic Romance Movie
Saturday, April 27, 2:00 p.m.
Do you geek classic romance? Indulge yourself in a classic romance story about love conquering pride and prejudice. 3-D Spheres
Tuesday, April 9, All day
Teens will make 3-D spheres using a template and colored paper at the Jones Creek Regional Branch. Just stop by the Teen Services desk at any time on Tuesday, April 9, where directions and supplies will be left out all day long for teens to enjoy! For more information, call (225) 756-1170.

Poem Script Scarf
Saturday, April 13, 2:30 p.m.
Let’s celebrate National Poetry Month at the Jones Creek Regional branch by writing a poem on a scarf using colored markers! Come to the library on Saturday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m. where teens can use poetry books to choose a favorite prose, or they can compose their own poem to write on their scarf. Teen Movie Day
Saturday, April 27, 2:30 p.m.

POEtry Smackdown!

Do you have what it takes to recite POEtry? The works of Edgar Allan Poe are not meant just to be read, but performed! Teens are invited to the Zachary Branch on Tuesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. to read or recite poetry of their choice, with an emphasis on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Dramatic readings are encouraged, so show us what you’ve got! There will also be a family friendly costume contest, so come dressed to win! Join us in celebrating Shakespeare’s birthday this month at the Zachary Branch! Read Gary Schmidt’s “Wednesday Wars,” then come have tea and biscuits with us at the library on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m. as we discuss this humorous story. A fast read, “Wednesday Wars’ will may you laugh and sympathize with middle schooler Holling Hoodwood, whose teacher is making him read Shakespeare, even outside of class.
