Baton Rouge, La — Business owners and citizens are being asked to drop off their unwanted electronic components for recycling at the Electronics Waste Materials Recycling Day being held on Friday and Saturday.
The Electronics Waste Recycling Day will be held on February 8 and 9 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge.
The service is free and open to the public.
February 8 will be reserved for collecting e-waste from businesses. The drop-off location will be at the parking lot across from Alex Box Stadium on the LSU campus, at 3511 Gourrier Avenue in Baton Rouge.
February 9 will be reserved for collecting e-waste from the general public. The drop-off location will be on campus at the X-174 commuter parking lot on Nicholson Drive Extension, across from Patrick F. Taylor Hall.
Materials that will be accepted include computers, monitors, televisions (box and flat-screen), LCD panels, printers, other computer electronic games, DVD players, VCRs, circuit boards, microwaves, and other household electronic devices.
Materials that will not be accepted include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, backup or UPS power supplies, batteries (that are not integral to the system) and appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators.
People should remain in their vehicles at all times during the drop-off process.
