BATON ROUGE,LA (FOX44) — With winds dying down Entergy workers were back up in their bucket trucks on Friday trying to restore power. It's a welcome sight to Cam Morton.

"When we drove in to the neighborhood and saw all these trucks. we said yes maybe it's going to happen," says Cam Morton

Morton lost power early Wednesday when Isaac blew through. At first he thought the outage wasn't going to last that long.

"We didn't get ready for about six hours. Maybe then we can get the power back. But we heard more and more pops go off in the neighborhood. We figured that there was no chance," says Morton

He was right. More than 36 hours later his home is still in the dark and while he says being without air conditioning is rough is south Louisiana…

“I grew up in New Orleans without air conditioning for a while. Now, I don't know how i ever did," says Morton

His biggest fear is not being able to watch his favorite sport.

"It's the beginning of football season. I wanted to watch the games,” says Morton.

Entergy expects 90 percent of its Louisiana customers to have their power back by next Thursday. But this process is being slowed by both floods that are making it difficult for crews to access certain areas and by its customers.

"You put yourself in danger by entering our work zones. So, we love all the compliments. Thank you for coming to talk to our guys, but you're creating a safety hazard for yourself. So, please stay out of our work zones,” says Sheila Pounders.

And Morton says he's fine with that. And looking back, he's just happy everything and everybody he knows is safe and sound after Isaac.

"Nobody got hurt. Everybody's healthy. The house is in pretty good shape. A couple of days without electricity isn't the worst thing that could have happened," says Morton
