Baton Rouge, La — An elderly woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision that occured in Baton Rouge this morning.
At around 8:20 a.m., Jeane Peters, 85, of St. Francisville, was traveling eastbound on Old Hammond Highway when she attempted to make a left turn into the Runnymede townhome community.
As she made her turn she nearly collided with one westbound car that managed to avoid her, but then struck another vehicle, driven by Tenise Stewart, 21, of Baton Rouge.
Peters was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Stewart was also transported to Baton Rouge General Mid-City for minor to moderate injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
