Douglas, AZ (KPHO) -- Border Patrol agents have stopped a flatbed truck in its tracks that was trying to smuggle 3,200 pounds of pot across the border using fake decals to make it look like a government vehicle, authorities said.
A representative with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said when Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents in Douglas tried to stop the driver of the vehicle, two people fled into Mexico.
The agents searched the truck that looked like a U.S. Fish and Wildfire Service and found bundles of marijuana in hidden compartments throughout the vehicle.
The vehicle and the drugs, worth approximately $1.6 million, were seized.
The suspects were not found.
