A former Baton Rouge city prosecutor was found dead in a Denham Springs hotel last night, and police are currently working to identify a woman who they believe might have information regarding his death.

The Denham Springs Police Department reports that its agency was contacted at roughly 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 14. They were dispatched to the Magnuson Hotel on Rushing Road regarding a medical emergency.

We’re told medical personnel attempted to revive Wilbert Jordan, Jr., 62, of Baton Rouge. However, their attempts were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials have not provided any details relative to his cause of death, although they do not suspect foul play at this time. However, they are currently seeking the identity of a black female who was at the hotel at the time of the incident.

No description of the female is available at this time, but detectives are currently searching through video footage to hopefully obtain an image of the woman.
