BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — It’s the scare that most people wait all year to feel at the 13th Gate. This year, for one special night, the creators have opened the doors to the attraction early to frighten people for Friday the 13th.
"We've got some amazing sets this year. Lots of cool new scares. A new area called 1888, which is walk through the dark allyways of London during the time of Jack the Ripper. I can't think of a better way to start of the season than Friday the 13th at the 13th gate. "
About 180 actors are transformed every night into scary ghouls. For years Blaine Quam has been the man responsible for creating their looks.
"We want you to suspend belief for a little while and put yourself in this picture or in this movie and walk through the sets with us. If you don't do make-up or you don't get the hair right, it kicks you out of that mindset. "
For those who were brave enough to try out the scares this Friday the 13th, Creator Dwayne Sanburn has promised some extra special surprises.
"Tonight, if you come through on Friday the 13th, you'll get to go through this extra scary, hidden secret room that people don't even know about."
As far as what to expect though, creators have said, expect only the unexpected.
"The new actors and the new make-ups and stuff that you're going to see this year, I think are really going to blow people's minds, because it's that far apart from what we've done before. As far as what they should expect? Fear, tears, peeing in their pants. That's exactly what we're looking for."
