Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank supply depleted due to Isaac

Hurricane Isaac has decimated the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank's supply.

The charity's food supply is at critical level; this is especially true when it comes to nonperishable items.

President and CEO Mike Manning said they are doing everything they can to get food to some of the hardest hit areas, but it has been tough.

"We're running out of virtually everything we've got as far as nonperishable items,” stated Manning. “We're pushing it as quickly as we can and trying to get whatever we can get our hands on, through any source or any potential resource, but it's really challenging right now."

Manning went on to say the food bank usually has a shortage of food during the summer, meaning that Isaac hit at one of the worst possible times.
