Hoo Shoo Too residents fear more accidents on road

"I don't want the city folk coming out here," says Andrea Stick.

Stick has lived on Hoo Shoo Too Road with her husband Kelly for the past dozen years. It used to be a quiet, relaxing place where she could get away from the congestion of the Capital City.

"When we moved out here and we saw the trees and it was pretty peaceful you know we fell in love with it," says Stick.

That love goes down a little bit though every time a new subdivision pops up in the area. The newest one will bring 90 new homes near the corner of Tiger Bend and Hoo Shoo Too about a mile from where she lives.

"I think it's going to cause a lot more traffic going on with Tiger Bend," says Jonathan Rackley.

Rackley lives right down the street from Stick. He remembers three accidents on Hoo Shoo Too in just the last couple of months. Stick says there have been way more than that.

"Since we've been here there's been at least dozen people die on those curves or injured on those curves," says Stick.

And she predicts if those curves aren't straightened, with more homes and cars on the way that number is only going to skyrocket.

"We lost a young girl just two months ago on those curves. With all that traffic it's just going to get worse...with all these new subdivisions those curves are going to get more dangerous. More people are going to die," says Stick.

So before that happens she just wants everyone to stay away from her area.

"We don't want to go into town and we don't want town coming out here either," says Stick.
