Hurriance Isaac churns up oil from BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico
Louisiana (FOX44) — Frustration continues along the Gulf Coast even after more oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill has been cleaned up.
Officials with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration authority say some 565,000 pounds of oiled material, including tar mats and balls from the 2010 spill, has been collected since Hurricane Isaac churned up the Gulf of Mexico.
BP has resumed responsibility for cleaning the crude up.
Just this week, the U.S. Coast Guard reported a new sheen near the site of the Macondo well. No word on if, or when, that cleanup will begin.
