Juban Crossing bill heads to Jindal's desk

A bill to help fund an upscale new shopping center in Livingston Parish heads to Governor Bobby Jindal's desk.

If Gov. Jindal signs the bill, 1 of 4 cents in future state sales tax revenue will help with the cost of infrastructure around the Juban Crossing.

Lawmakers say they voted in favor of Senate Bill 673 because Juban Crossing could eventually create 2,500 permanent jobs.

Initially it could create up to 1,500 construction jobs.
