KS: Lost Dog found 9 months later and 150 miles away
MARION, KS (CNN) — A Great Dane in Kansas made a great journey.
He went off on a 150-mile walk by himself, over nine months.
Now he's been found and reunited with his family.
If dogs came with odometers ole titan here would be rolling over into six digits. This 6-year-old Great Dane has been walking and walking for the past nine months.
"It was real rough not having him, she kept telling us he was coming back," said Jeff De Jaynes, Titan’s owner.
Titan’s owners put him out to play back in April but he never came home.
"We put out wanted posters and called vet clinics and just tried to find him," Jaynes said.
They were reunited with Titan on Tuesday, some 150 miles and nine months later. The dog had been found in Marion,
Kansas and was taken to a vet, where his chip was recognized.
"They got ahold of us and told us he was 150 miles away and we immediately left to go get him," his owner said.
Over his nine month journey, titan lost more than 60 pounds and did suffer a few minor injuries. But now this three foot tall "body guard" is back home.
"We'd drive around for an hour every night looking for him, but never found him. It was kind of just a shock more than anything that we did get him back," Jaynes explained.
The family thanks the micro chip for the return of Titan. They say without it, they would have never got him back. Also, they especially want to thank the folks in Marion for taking Titan to the vet.
The family still has no idea how titan was able to survive some of the brutal temperatures we've seen this winter.
