LA AG arrests Terrytown man for possessing, distributing child pornography
TERRYTOWN, LA (LA AG's Office) — A Terrytown man has been charged with six counts of possessing and two counts of distributing pornography involving juveniles, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
50-year-old Angel Aquino, of 328 Helen Street, was arrested Thursday as a part of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
He was booked into the Jefferson Parish Prison without incident.
“We have developed successful partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies to catch these online predators, and we will only increase our efforts to keep our kids safe from abuse and exploitation,” said Attorney General Caldwell.
“With technology constantly changing and evolving, our Cyber Crime Unit always has to stay a few steps ahead of these predators. I am committed to making certain that our Unit has the tools and resources necessary to continue to be one of the best in the country.”
Aquino is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison on each count.
