BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Concluding a nationwide search for its next leader, the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations' Board of Directors announced today the hire of nonprofit management and fund development expert, Kelly Pepper, to serve as the Association's fourth President & CEO.
A veteran of executive grantmaking, fundraising and communications roles within the arts community, Pepper is currently Director of Organization Services & Community Development for Louisiana's Division of the Arts, where she administers the Decentralized Arts Funding Program, the State's competitive grant system that supports the work of arts organizations, community groups, individual artists and local government agencies in every parish.
A recognized expert in nonprofit fundraising, Pepper has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty of Louisiana State University, instructing on Advanced Strategies in Development.
"I am honored to be selected for this unique opportunity to expand my support of outstanding nonprofit organizations throughout Louisiana," said Pepper.
Previously, Pepper directed fund development, marketing and public relations for arts organizations in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, New York, and Nashville, and served as Executive Director of the Center for The Arts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
LANO Board Chair, Tony Frey, cites Pepper's extensive nonprofit management and supervisory experience, statewide program administration and demonstrated fundraising expertise as compelling reasons for her hire. "Kelly brings the perfect mix of skills and experience to this role," said Frey, "at a time when the demand for LANO's services and unique mission has never been greater."
Kelly Pepper will succeed former President & CEO, Ann S. Williamson, who now serves as Executive Director of Utah's Department of Human Services. Pepper's employment at LANO will begin January 27. Vice President Matt Mullenix will represent the organization in the interim.
