Baton Rouge, La (fox44) — With four weeks until the end of the legislative session, it looks like Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives have come to an agreement.
Lawmakers say they've whittled down the amount of tax exemptions they're considering getting rid of.
The exemptions were brought up for discussion too see if the state could generate revenue, while avoiding any more cuts to higher education or healthcare.
The tax exemptions that will remain include wind energy, movie tax credits, and a few others.
Lawmakers on both sides say they're happy that they've worked together to close loopholes and come to a solution.
The House will begin discussing the state budget plan tomorrow.
