In 1969, Janet sent a small Christmas tree to Kevin Smith, a Navy Seabee in Vietnam. She thought she'd never see the ready-to-set-up tree from Sears-Roebuck again.

Little did she know at the time, Kevin would keep the tree through two tours of duty, and she'd end up becoming his wife.

Kevin brought this little tree home and years later their son Joshua joined the military. He, too, would put it up overseas.

For the past 10 years, it's been all around the world with the Marine. The tree has cheered up troops on in Japan, Cyprus, the Republic of Georgia, Vienna, Afghanistan and now South Korea.
