BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Anne Ogea's store, Lion’s Gate, is still closed.
And now, she wants to know who broke into her store around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.
According to surveillance video, someone used a crowbar to bust out the front window, and then made his way inside.
“We feel violated. That scares us a little bit,” said Ogea. “ He bee-lined it straight over here to the boutique for the jeans.”
Out of all the things in the store, the burglar only took leather handbags and some pairs of white skinny jeans. The value of the items is around $1,500.
Ogea said whoever did this is no stranger to the place.
“Somehow he got in, did everything he did in under 30 seconds, and left. We think it was someone who'd been in the store or has knowledge of someone who came in and cased it before hand.”
In the surveillance video, the burglar knew exactly where he was going and what he wanted. He didn't even touch the cash registers or any of the other items on the clothes racks.
The store owner now says the way she runs her business has changed, “It just makes us open our eyes and be a little bit more cautious as in who they are and what they're doing while they're here.”
The Baton Rouge Police Department told FOX44 they're still reviewing the surveillance video.
