Addis J-Turn plan to be discussed at public meeting tonight

ADDIS, La (FOX44) — A meeting between Addis residents and the DOTD will take places tonight due to the public outrage over a dangerous intersection in the town. 

The meeting will happen at 6:00 p.m. inside the YMCA in Addis. It's designed to be an open-house, where residents can ask questions and get other information.

To the disapproval of many residents there, DOTD is installing a J-turn at the intersection of LA-1 and Sugar Plantation Parkway, the site of three traffic fatalities last year.

Residents held a rally back in December, calling on DOTD to install a traffic signal.
