BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44) — At the Baton Rouge Press Club earlier today, Governor Jindal's Former Chief of Staff Timmy Teepell weighed in on education.
Teepell's now a partner of a political consulting firm called On-Message.
He says poll numbers show people in Louisiana are ready to see major changes to what happens inside the state's classrooms.
Teepell says Jindal's aggressive plans are exactly what parents want to see.
“I think that the voters expect it - they want it - and they're going to be extremely disappointed if they get anything that resembles tinkering around the edges with the current system,” said Teepell. “They want bold reform.”
Teepell went on to say his company's survey was not meant to gauge support for a specific policy, but he believes Jindal's efforts to give parents more choices about where their kids go to school and to reward good teachers is striking a chord with the public.
