LSU ROTC holds commissioning ceremony for three members
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Three LSU students traded in their Purple and Gold for Red, White, and Blue.
The school held a commissioning ceremony for three members of its ROTC program.
Ariel Rollins is joining the Air Force, while Robert Brown and Raymond Perkins are heading to the Army.
They received their bars from their families, and got their first salute from a fellow officer.
Perkins said he's excited to continue the legacy of the Army, LSU and his family.
“My dad was in the Air Force, grandfather in the Army, so I've always had an interest,” stated Perkins. “I have always been wanting to serve, so I always knew I would serve in the military through some facet."
Rollins will be stationed at the Beale Air Force Base in northern California; Brown will begin his career at Fort Benning in Georgia; Perkins will join the Louisiana National Guard, which is based out of Hammond.
