Man dies after being ejected from car during crash
ST. JAMES, LA — A St. James man was killed after his vehicle overturned, throwing him from his car.
The incident happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. on July 13 on LA 3219 in St. James Parish.
The investigation revealed that a 1999 Dodge Ram was traveling west on LA 3219 just east of LA 3127. The Ram was being driven by Allen Morrison, 64.
For unknown reasons, the Ram traveled off the right side of the road and continued on the grassy shoulder for almost 300 feet before re-entering LA 3219. When the Ram crossed the center line of LA 3219, Morrison overcorrected to the right causing the Ram to rotate clockwise. The Ram rotated off the right side of the roadway where it overturned and ejected Morrison. Morrison, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene by the St. James Parish Coroner’s Office.
Investigating Troopers report that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
