May 4 declared Lemonade Day in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — It won't be long until you see hundreds of lemonade stands setup all across the Capitol City.
Final preparations were made today for this year's Lemonade Day, which is the day children are encouraged to set up lemonade stands to promote small business and entrepreneurship.
Today, Mayor Holden declared May 4 Lemonade Day in Baton Rouge.
Last year, about 10,000 lemonade stands were setup across the state.
“What I hope Lemonade Day does is inspires future entrepreneurs to be future business people,” stated Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves.
John Georges with Georges Enterprises agrees, “What you learn doing a lemonade stand, you can carry the rest of your life - the simple basic principles of business, coming up with ideas, and making a profit.”
To help the children get started, they were all given kits to help them set up their stand on May 4.
