A public meeting sponsored by One Community, One School District (OCOSD) group is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10. The meeting will take place at the Bluebonnet Library, located at 9200 Bluebonnet Boulevard, Baton Rouge.

Representatives of OCOSD will discuss how the proposed incorporation of the City of St. George will affect taxes and access to public education in the parish of East Baton Rouge. Representatives will also discuss the attempt of BESE to take over Mayfair and Delmont Elementary Schools even though they have been reconfigured and how these efforts undermine all public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish. Members will also be on hand to collect P.E. equipment for the Eden Park Superintendent's Academy located at 1650 N. Acadian Thruway in conjunction with the drive it launched earlier this month. A complete list of the items that are needed can be found at www.educatebr.com.

This event is free and open to the public.
