BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — If you haven't registered to vote for next month's election, you're out of time.

The deadline to register was yesterday, but the Secretary of State's Office says many took time out to register.

The latest numbers show there are almost three million registered voters in the state. Of those, about 277,000 of those registered are in East Baton Rouge Parish; that number is just a couple hundred fewer than the number registered for the last presidential election in 2008.

A spokeswoman for Tom Schedler says the numbers are preliminary and will likely increase once online registrations are added.
