BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — A 20-year-old man was killed last night after the vehicle he was in was struck by bullets.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1. We’re told the victim, Jermayne Bantu, was a passenger in the rear of a vehicle that was traveling in the 4200 block of Provost.
The other occupants of the vehicle told investigators that they heard gunshots and bullets strike the car. They then noticed that Bantu and another person in the car had been injured.
The driver took the victims to a local hospital. One survived, but Bantu was pronounced dead.
Detectives have no motive or suspects at this time.
