A Baton Rouge man was killed last night after he was hit by a passing vehicle.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Greenwell Springs Road at roughly 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30. We’re told the victim, Reginald Davis, 24, was reportedly walking in and out of traffic. At some point he was in the westbound lane when a 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by an 18-year-old man struck him.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and called authorities. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured during the crash. Investigators do not believe alcohol or speed to be a factor on the part of the driver. He was not issued a citation.
