BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Louisiana is going after a gym that closed almost as soon as it opened.
The Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit against the owners of Powerhouse Gym.
They say the gym engaged in deceptive practices, taking money from customers for a facility it couldn't deliver.
The gym was supposed to be a 70,000 square foot, high-end facility. But when it opened in December 2012, almost a year behind schedule, it was a small room with a few pieces of equipment.
Gym members have told FOX44 that it took several months for them to get refunds once they realized they weren't going to get what they paid for.
