BATON ROUGE,LA (FOX44) — Twenty-five puppies will be off to their new homes on Monday.

It's all because the Companion Animal Alliance is taking part in its second "Puppy Transport" program. The dogs are being driven to several shelters in Norfolk, Virginia. Those shelters will then place them with loving families. Paula Shaw works for C.A.A. and is driving the puppies to their new homes.

"I take care of them all day, every day. So knowing that they're going somewhere where they're going to be loved is, it's just really rewarding," says Shaw.

C.A.A. reminds everyone that to cut down on pet overpopulation make sure to spay and neuter your pets. Also, if you're interested in adopting a puppy you can call C.A.A. at (225) 774-7701
