NEW ORLEANS, LA — The Recovery School District has announced a complete redesign of its website.
Design of the new site was inspired not only by the organization’s mission, but by the feedback provided by parents, educators, and community members. Based on their feedback, the new site now provides users with useful information, resources, and transparent data on all schools.
“The RSD listened to the community’s feedback and incorporated their ideas and needs into the new site,” said RSD Superintendent Patrick Dobard. “The new site focuses on providing families and other visitors with easy navigation and useful information they need to make informed choices.”
The new site condenses information into plain language with colorful, easy to follow infographics to help explain the work and vision of the RSD. Users also expressed their desire to have more information pertaining to the schools at their fingertips. In response, the site now features a find a school function where parents, educators, and community members can search RSD schools statewide. Included in this search function is the ability to download data, including the school guides thanks to the partnership with the New Orleans Parents’ Guide, driving directions to schools, and information on other schools within a zip code or parish. Under the school section, users can learn more about RSD schools and download lists of RSD direct-run and charter schools.
“We invite everyone to explore the new site and continue to provide our team with ways to improve the user experience,” said Dobard. “The RSD is committed to providing our parents, educators, and community members with clear, concise information and this new site provides the public with useful tools in an easy to navigate format.”
The site also includes information for families on enrollment, school calendars, academics and other helpful resources for students. Another helpful area of the website provides resources for educators within RSD direct-runs and charter schools.
