BATON ROUGE, La (FOX44)- December 27, 2010 - The American Red Cross is trying to keep people warm this holday season, especially young children, and the elderly.
When most people think of the red cross, they think of disaster response such as hurricanes.
But they also go to great lengths to educate people on staying safe in any situation.
Over Christmas there were several fires that could've been prevented with some safety beforehand.
Barbara Bougoise is a safety couselor at the red cross, and she has some advice on staying warm and safe during the winter.
