Tuesday Genny Sheridan was honored for 70 years of service to the American Red Cross.

Sheridan started her carrer by rolling bandages for WWII soldiers, and throughout her time, she's assisted with disasters all over the US, Latin America, and Puerto Rico.

Genny even has a card that details all 75 disasters she's worked.

The people who've worked with her over the years consider her family.

"Just looking at Genny and seeing everything she does, is uplifting, she doesn't really have to say anything, she just leads by example." said Marilyn Wright, Disaster Health Service Advisor and State Liason

"Everybody knows Ms. Genny, we have more or less adopted Ms. Genny as our family member." said Rosa Hill, Red Cross State Program Manager

"I've known genny since 1980, and she's always been this force that's been there and supporting side by side, and she's just a wonderful person." said Jane Morgan, Red Cross State Disaster Officer in Lousiana and Mississippi
