Report: Louisiana unemployment rates dropping

A new report shows more companies across Louisiana are hiring.

According to the Louisiana Workforce Commission, unemployment in Baton Rouge is at 7.2 percent, which is down from 8 percent in July.

Unemployment is down 0.5 percent in Lafayette, where the rate sits at 5 percent.

The rate is also down in New Orleans as well, sitting at 7.5 percent.

Officials call the trends quote encouraging.
