RSD hosts parent meetings for schools in BR Achievement Zone

Friday, April 12, 2013 - 1:20pm

The Recovery School District (RSD) will share plans for their direct-run schools in the Baton Rouge Achievement Zone through a series of upcoming parent meetings.

Through a conversation led by RSD Superintendent Patrick Dobard, parents from RSD schools are invited to learn more about the organization’s strategies to create high-quality school options in the Achievement Zone. Additionally, parents will be encouraged to provide feedback on priorities for transforming their students’ schools. Dobard wants to inform parents that transforming schools starts now, and he wants parents to be a part of this process every step of the way.

“We want to continue to work with parents and families to share our plans for the upcoming school year and our vision for the future,” says RSD Superintendent Patrick Dobard. “The RSD is not here to make changes to community; we are here to make changes with community, this will lead to successful transformation of public schools in the parish. We want to share our plans with our parents and work with them now to create more quality schools across the Achievement Zone.”

There are seven RSD direct-run schools in the Baton Rouge Achievement Zone. Meetings will be held at each school over the next month.
