Screaming woman in Wal-Mart parking lot alerts police to kidnapping of woman, child

A man was arrested for allegedly abducting his girlfriend and her son and for causing her physical harm.

The Houma Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 5. Police were alerted to the domestic dispute after callers reported hearing a woman screaming for help in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Police responded to the scene but were unable to locate the subjects. However, they quickly located the vehicle described by witnesses on Barataria Blvd.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and learned that the victim and her 3-year-old son were being held against their will. The victim told officers that the suspects, Johnny Jermaine Williams, 35, and Lee Andrew Short III, 34, kidnapped her and she claims that Williams, her boyfriend, choked and beat her as well.

Williams and Lee were both arrested and charged with two counts of Simple Kidnapping. Williams was also charged with domestic abuse (strangulation), Domestic Abuse with a Child Present, and a parole violation.

Both Willams and Lee were booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. The child was reportedly uninjured.
