Second worker from plant explosion dies from injuries
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — The explosion at the Williams Olefins plant has claimed a second victim; the critical patient being treated at the Baton Rouge General.
Scott Thrower, 47, of St. Amant, passed away at roughly 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14. He is survived by his wife Dana and their young son.
A friend of the family provided our news partner, The Creole, with the photo attached to this story. He described Thrower as "caring, funny and an all around great guy."
Zachary Green, 29, was also killed in the blast.
Officials say several patients have been discharged, but a handful remain under doctor supervision. We’re told 77 people were admitted for treatment at three hospitals. Three patients remain at Baton Rouge General in Mid City.
Our hearts go out to Thrower's friends and family.
