A nightmare scenario played out this morning at a casino in Shreveport after a young woman’s car plummeted 60 feet to the ground from the top deck of a parking garage.

The Bossier City Police Department reports that the incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Boomtown Casino/Hotel parking garage. We’re told Robin Alexander Lyons, 21, of Shreveport drove her vehicle through a barrier of steel cables. The car landed on its roof and pinned her inside.

The Fire Department was called to use the Jaws of Life to remove her from the vehicle and she was then transported to the LSU Health Center in Shreveport. She is currently there listed in critical condition.

Officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Lyons was wearing a seatbelt.

No one else was injured in this crash.
