Sinkhole-affected residents in Bayou Corne send online petition to White House

Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 2:00am

Residents living near the Bayou Corne sinkhole are taking their case all the way to the White House.

A petition has been started on the official White House page, asking the Obama Administration to take “immediate action” on the sinkhole situation.

In their petition, they say they want Texas Brine and the government to release more information about the possible hazards of the sinkhole.

They claim the company hasn't shared all of the information about the situation, and they want answers now.

In order to have their case heard by the Obama Administration, the group needs 25,000 signatures by January 27.

As of today, there are just eleven people who have signed the petition, which means they need 24,989 more signatures in the next three and a half weeks.
