BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Southern University's newest Jaguars came to campus Sunday to kick off the school's welcome week.
Freshmen got a chance to move into the dorms. Students dragged mom, dad and anyone willing to carry a few boxes to their new rooms. For many freshmen this is their first time living away from home, and they say it will take some getting used to.
"I think it's going to go by pretty fast," said freshman Tevin Jenkins. "I think i'm going to take it slow. I know everything is going to be a blur."
Classes begin for the entire university Monday August 20.
