BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Governor Jindal has declared a State of Emergency to help provide resources for those areas impacted by severe weather.
Six additional parishes have also declared a State of Emergency. They include Acadia, Avoyelles, Concordia, East Carroll, Evangeline, Livingston and St. Landry Parish.
The declaration allows for funds and additional resources to assist residents impacted by severe weather. It allows for the implementation of flood protection measures and ongoing flooding related needs.
Although the worst of the storm is over, forecasters expect another round of storms to hit south Louisiana on Saturday, Jan. 12. River levels are extremely high, which could cause additional flooding over the weekend.
