State Officials prepare for Election Day

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 - 3:44pm

With an exceptionally high turnout for early voters this year, State Officials only have a few days left to prepare for Election Day.

Throughout the entire state there was more than 340 thousand individuals voted early which is about twenty one percent higher than 2008. Voter turn out in 2008 was 67 percent and State Officials say they expect a large turn out on Election Day despite the high numbers for early voting.

Polling places and volunteers have been preparing for the influx of voters and they also encourage everyone to come prepared as well.

"We’re just trying to get the message out about individuals to know their ballot go ahead and study ahead of time. You only get three minutes in the voting booth in election say so if you know how you’re going to vote it will help to move the line along. Our folks are getting prepared getting their machines ready making sure that they know all the rules and regulations,” said Megan Casper who is the Press Secretary at the Secretary of State.
