DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (FOX44) — Livingston Parish students head back to school tomorrow and when they do, students at two of those schools will find some big improvements.
The ribbons were cut today on almost $8 million worth of expansion projects. At Denham Springs High a new two story classroom building will now have lab space for students and teachers.
The school board named the building for former board member Louis Carlisle, who also served as principal and football coach for the Yellow Jackets.
“He left a legacy for our family, our children, and the school children here,” Shirley Carlisle, wife of Louis, said. “Even today I have football players call me back and call and talk to me and ask me how we're doing and how much he's meant to them
Denham Springs freshman high got a new cafeteria over the summer and added more science classrooms.
