BATON ROUGE (FOX44) - It's crawfish season, and at Tony's Seafood Sunday, people were walking out with as much as they could carry.
Seafood lovers poured into Tony's Seafood to start crawfish season off right. In the past few weeks, the staff at Tony's said the numbers of crawfish have been wavering because of the dry weather and cold snaps we've been having.
But Co-Owner Bill Pizzolato says with the coming warm weather, and increased harvests from the Atchafalya Basin, the crawfish numbers and quality should be superb.
"The quality this year has started off medium, and until we get to the atchafalya basin, or until we get some continuous warm days, the price is starting to come down now. And you're starting to see a little bit better quality than we had, say a month ago. " said Pizzolato
