Tornado, Flash Flood Watch in south Louisiana, several inches of rain expected

A Tornado Watch has been issued for most of south Louisiana due to a warm front passing through the area. Along with the potential for damaging winds and hail, the storm could bring as much as 3 to 5 inches of rain.

The National Weather Service has issued tornado watches for Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Lafourche, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana Parishes.

A Flash Flood watch has also been issued for many of those parishes, including Livingston, upper Jefferson, Orleans, upper Plaquemines, upper St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helna, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes.

The Tornado Watch will remain until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.
